Got this error configuring search. Went to eventid.net and somebody fixed
this by applying Mindy Kelly's solution on Mindy's blog on
sharepointblogs.com. Unfortunately the page does not exist anymore. Anybody
read it and can recall what the fix was?

Have you tried recently (=today). The entire sharepointblogs system has been
down for almost 2 weeks after major disasters, but it should now be back.

Hi, I didn't repost the blog after the crash because it didn't solve my

It didn't "appear" that anything wasn't working, all jobs appeared to be
executing as expected. I happen to have a server farm with SQL 2005 cluster,
index server and two front-end web servers. These errors were only showing up
on the index server.
In troubleshooting another issue, I had re-entered the service account name
for the Windows SharePoint Services Timer service and I browsed the domain
for the user name. It entered the name as a UPN: ***@domain.com.
So I manually went back in and changed the service account to
domain\serviceaccount and restart the timer service (on all three servers).
Voila, the errors are gone.
Incidentally, this configuration also caused the Trend PortalProtect 1.7
(for MOSS - just released) installation to fail. Working with Trend support
to get PP installed is how I came across the solution.
[5/14/07] Unfortunately, this error did come back 6 days later. Why? Who
knows. My next attempt to fix it is to add the service account for the Timer
Service to the Backup Operators group, even though it is a member of the
local Administrators group. Something to do with logging on as a batch job.
I'll let you know how it goes.
[5/21/07] These errors did return again after 5 days. I'm open to any ideas!

Hi Mindy et. al.,

These tree events together might indicate issues caused by a bug in the .NET
Frameworks 2.0. There is a hotfix available for this. For more information,
see the KB article, 923028 (http://support.microsoft.com/?id=923028).

Please post with whether this helped, so that we can add this information to
our event message reference.

Thanks

On August 17th at about 10:30pm these errors stopped. I have no idea why. No patches were applied, no servers in the farm were rebooted.

I just don't get it.
